How to get involved?
In our current information age the traditional teachings of meditation have been opened to the public. This is a wonderful thing but there is something special about learning meditation with a dedicated community of students.
Anyone can be a student and attend our classes.
Those who wish to be more involved can request to take 'sannyas' or 'initiation.' This is a promise to oneself to dedicate one's life to the truth. This promise is made before the teacher and community to strengthen one's resolve. It is a sign of respect to the teacher and teachings and a way to dedicate one self to the path.
Those who have been practising for some time can request initiation with the teacher and enter the lineage of practice.
Everyone is welcome to come along to 'test the waters.' However meditation is predicated on having mental health. If one has mental health issues it is required by our school that one consults a therapist rather than attend meditation classes. Modern people have modern mental diseases that need to be addressed before starting meditation. Therapy is the method to bring people to the point where traditionally people would start meditation. Meditation is NOT a substitute for therapy. Read more.
